Has anyone had any luck dialing in for a v60? I’ve tried their recommendations, I’ve tried the grind calculator from onyx and I’ve tried just randomly picking a number.
But the results are always kind of the same. Good passable coffee with no personality or tasting notes.
I’m using the light roast formula from third wave and at 205f
The coffee I have is https://catandcloud.com/products/sumatra-pantan-musara
If anyone can help it would be hugely helpful

I use an Ode 2 every weekend with a range of nice light roast beans from roasters like DAK, Prodigal, Swerl, and XLIII. I tend to grind in the 7 to 8 range depending on the amount of fines that the beans generate.
I use either the V60 or the Konos MDK-41 brewers and a drip assist device to reduce agitation and reduce migration of fines in to the filter.
I use water in the 90C to 93C range and a TDS of 25 to 125.
I try to use as few pours as possible with a 1:16 ratio.
I will try this in the morning. I tried again somewhat recently and used cooler water and a 4.8 and that was good but not great doing much larger is interesting to me. Have you modified your set at all? Like gone in and changed the default settings? I’ve seen a few people around doing that because it didn’t grind find enough for them.
My Ode 2 is completely unmodified. I have gone as low as the mid 5’s and the low 6’s but the draw down was too slow and the brew too astringent. Currently I have fairly fast draw downs and the resulting brews are fruity/floral
I’ve just tried a 7 and I have to say I’m surprised. I think between larger grind and cooler water this might be doing the trick. I’d still not quite there but it’s much less standard coffee flavor and more nuances
