How do you stand to fair if the oil situation continues to worsen? Plastics. Nylon. Jet fuel. Tires. Asphalt. To name just a few things that heavily rely on oil byproduct.
I worked in ag for years. Its quite possibly the biggest difference. Remove ALL oil tomorrow and you will see a VAST population die-off. You can get around a lot of the issues but not at any sort of scale. And not all at once.
