Well beer is amazing, but it’s the same as with coffee. You need to force yourself into liking it first and eventually it will taste good. I also might be biased because I have access to Bavarian beer, especially the small local breweries are just top notch.
I prefer beer than soda and it can pair nicely with some foods but most of it simply doesn’t taste good on its own. “Beer is great” is mostly a social construct.
I don’t know about that. Sure, society kind of pushes you to like and drink beer but I do actually find it refreshing. As I said, the small breweries actually make good beer that–especially in Bavaria where beer is typically less bitter.
Seconded. I’m willing to believe that a decent amount of people like it, tastes changing from person to person, but I really tried and I feel like there might be a lot more peer pressure in there than we expect.
I’d say it depends on the beer a lot, as well. Personally I like sours, but will occasionally want an IPA. The American-style beer is only tolerable after you get a few drinks in
Beer.
You might be a super taster like me and that’s why you find it absolutely disgusting despite everyone else loving it
Like the taste but my system doesn’t agree with it. I feel bloated and it makes me have stone in my stomach.
After a bit it settles and I can drink it. Rather have a wine or dark rum once every month or so.

I’ve liked bitter flavors since apparently I could first eat, so I don’t think everyone has to force themselves.
