You scan the barcode with your phone, put it in your bag, net, suitcase, whatever, and then just scan a qr code on your way out and pay with whatever payment you want. I started using it while waiting in line at a checkout, and managed to set up the app, verify my age, set up payment option, scan everything, and pack it, before the 3 people in front of me were done.
