(Left image is outside of glove, right image is it flipped inside out).

I know it’s only 1 glove but this was my first project beyond a standard knit (which I now know is “garter” stitch) scarf with fringe.

I learned Right Side (RS), Wrong Side (WS), how to do a purl stitch and that alternating it with knit is called stockinette, and this was my first attempt at doing a “mattress” seam! Which you can see I struggled with, especially for the stockinette part, but I’m hoping I can do a better job on the next one, and I’m happy with how this lil glove came out overall for a first attempt! :)

If anyone does have tips/suggestions, or “tried and true” resources for learning how to do seams, I’d be grateful!

I used the pattern, yarn, and needles included with this kit: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1441750462/diy-fingerless-gloves-knitting-kit

You’re so kind, thank you sooo much! VeryPink & Ravelry seem like exactly the kind of “tried and true” resources I was hoping to find! Honestly there’s so much out there it’s a bit overwhelming, so I appreciate it! And your overall advice is very reassuring, too, I was so intimidated by the purl stitch for a while, I feel like I’ve unlocked a whole new world now! Haha.

      No problem!

Ravelry has been around for a long time and is hands down the best resource for finding patterns (apparently ~700,000 have been uploaded). Their advanced search is fantastic if you’re looking for something in particular, but the sheer number of filter options can feel kind of overwhelming at first. If you’re logged in while looking at a pattern, you can see other people’s projects, which often include helpful notes and photos. Rav also has solid user tools, including ones for tracking your own projects and yarn stash (which will build up if you stick with knitting), and a huge yarn database that I mostly use for finding photos of yarn colours in various lighting before I buy them online.
