I love that someone downvoted you for this when there’s been a very real and recent trend of major studios and publishers chucking staff into the wind right after successful game launches.
Didn‘t downvote, but I think it’s an unfair generalization to suggest that a developer which isn’t owned by any major player in the gaming industry, hadn’t had any major layoffs in the past, and whose former CEO stepped down voluntarily after Firebreak flopped, will suddenly just start laying off people. I’m not claiming to know that it’s not going to happen, but right now it’s just a cynical take which doesn’t contribute to the discussion.

meh, ive worked in the game industry for two decades. I’ve been a part of 5 studio wide layoffs. im allowed to be salty.
Yeah but don’t be so negative, this time surely it won’t happen like it did all of the other times!
you haven’t lived until you’ve found out you lost your job through a kotaku article at 8 am while you’re getting dressed.
Ah, the timeless class of the modern “employer”. 🤌🏼
Godamn
Where do you see a major game studio here?
