title needs some explanation. so i was playing with those ai sex chatbots, and they’re kind of stupid. I mean, literally stupid, they forget everything super fast and start saying shit that makes no sense. but then I was thinking, the scenarios can be kind of fun, and the instant replies are nice, what if i had a guy (or a girl, i swing both ways but i think i know this audience at this point) choose some scenario & chatbot character for me, and speak to me like they’d talk to the bot. I won’t forget things, will actually be creative, it’d be fun to play a character given to me, and just like with an uncensored chatbot, you could say anything and I’d keep going no matter what. so you can have the chatbot roleplay experience but with actual memory.
the main problem is lemmy is kind of slow, and tbh i do not understand the messages page very well, it doesn’t read like a chat. i’d prefer something like discord, but maybe more private, i found revolt, or stoat, idk I think they’re the same thing, but it’s like discord. if anyone has any suggestions lmk. i’d also probably only do one chat at a time to make it more immersive and more like an ai chat.

AI or not - talking to a computer is nothing more than talking to a soda vending machine.
On the other hand, chat with a human is part of human life, therefore yes, your idea could be lots of fun.

I don’t really trust AI companies with my fetishes, plus AI chatbots are indeed pretty dumb. I was doing some anal play with a chatbot and she said that her stomach was hurting so I offered her some Tums. Apparently the chatbot did not know about basic over-the-counter medicine and so she interpreted as a roofie and I had to explain to the chatbot that it was just for her stomach LOL
Not a fan of chatbots for the same reason I’m not a fan of LLMs.
There are tons of private options for chats. Jabber/XMPP, DeltaChat, Stoat, Matrix, even IRC (but if you want encryption, don’t) There tend to be barely hidden ERP groups (what this would fall under) in a lot of online games, too. SecondLife is most notorious for it, but most games have an ERP community.
In terms of scenarios I got nothin’. ERP isn’t my thing, even if I like being around it.
My stepmother used to tell my brother and I we couldn’t call 1-900 numbers because they cost too much, if we were desperate for dirty talk, we could simulate a phone conversation with her.
She wasn’t trying to be kinky or a pederast, I think she was trying to gross us out. It worked. I wasn’t interested in calling the 1-900 numbers, or taking her up on her offer. I think it’s like when your mom (if you’re a guy — if you’re a girl and your dad does the same thing it’s super creepy) tells you to take a shower/bathe or they’ll bathe you like you’re a baby.
But yeah, I mean you can definitely be someone’s dirty pen pal, and there are DirtyPenPals communities out there. Being a young woman, you would be in high demand and would have no shortage of men wishing to chat with you. So you could either charge money somehow, or at the very least you would have your choice of clients, and people who don’t show you respect (assuming you want them to — BDSM being one example of a woman being submissive or role-playing some kind of victim, but willingly) could be quickly replaced. So I think it’s less about what do guys want from you and what do you want from them. It’s your market.
Of course, anyone can pretend to be anyone online, so if the text is just chat, nothing really stops a guy from pretending to be a gal. I’m not saying you are — I’m saying someone who is somewhat creative could do so and probably not get caught as long as you don’t use voices and never meet. We used to have a saying online, “Online, men are men; women are also men; children are Interpol.”
If you have a computer, you could run multiple chats as long as you could open multiple copies of the client side by side. Just have multiple TextEdits/Notepads/Sticky Notes above each chat so you can keep track of things that you need to remember, and then just take each incoming reply at face value. If you come across something you’ll need to remember, jot it in the note window above. Start with one, but take the notes. Add a second one. I feel like I could do four? Like I could divide my screen (27", 1440p) four ways (think four 13" 720p monitors in a 2x2 grid) and just take the comments as they come. Even if accuracy slips a little, people are typing one-handed. You might want to as well, but female anatomy allows more options. Some women can stimulate themselves just by rubbing their thighs together. A small firm pillow placed between them could help with that, especially since you’d want more of a slower burn (you’d want to outlast your client(s)). Better, if you have a partner IRL in the room who can lend a hand, and also offer you suggestions for the chat(s).
Of course, I’m only speaking to the technical and creative side of this. I wouldn’t be interested in chatting with a young woman online about sexual topics one on one like that. Partly because I’m married, partly because I’m about twice your age. But I do like to be helpful, so… hopefully that helps.
As far as private chats go, Signal is probably better and I think they have a desktop client. Telegram is not as good since chats are not encrypted by default, but private chats are and that also has a desktop client. You mentioned Discord. I think that’s a bad idea because it’s not private and it’s pretty invasive for some people. Mine hasn’t asked me to show my ID, but I don’t use the NSFW servers. I really just follow a couple Animal Crossing channels… (guilty pleasure). But yeah, you could make a lobby and a few SFW chat rooms and get to know people, and I think you could get payment bots set up to let people into a private lobby where they could request one-on-one chats. For example, an Animal Crossing server I’m on requires me to either pay, or gift a Twitch sub (I do this via Amazon Prime), to access their private channels. The server offers treasure islands, which are islands that contain items and resources you would ordinarily have to grind for. So I know there’s a way to do it with Discord. I just don’t trust Discord (and I’m fortunate that I haven’t had to choose between privacy and convenience yet).
The prompt: We’re both political staffers who are meeting eachother at a social networking, we both know neither of us have much free time to circle around the question and everyone gets pent up at work. We’ve been eyeing eachother up all evening, people are starting to head home and you know if you want a chance for something to happen one of us is going to have to make a very direct approach.

ERP isn’t so much my cup of tea, I’m too silly for RP and can’t take it seriously, but Matrix is the general purpose chat recommended around most fediverse platforms. It works pretty similarly to Discord, but I’ve found that it does require a little bit of tech literacy so it’s not for everyone.
Session is also another option. The invite keys look a bit long and scary, but it’s easy to use.

I’ve done my fair share of 1on1 Rp, though never really veered into proper ERP territory. I have used LLMs to co-write though, and did go into smutty writing via that (though usually not using online services, the privacy implications are big). If you want to try it out there are some decent discord servers to find partners. Text rp in general can be pretty fun!
