Well, which do we think would annoy nerds more: Lego bricks changing so that they or some combination thereof achieve a truly cubic aspect ratio (currently they’re not and they never have been; a 1x1x1 Lego brick is taller than it is wide or deep, and no approved combination of stock Lego parts can produce a truly cubic 1x1 piece) or Minecraft blocks suddenly changing to be vertically elongated to match Lego?
Lego used to have a brand called Modulex with 1x1x1 aspect ratio bricks. The brand is still around, but not owned by Lego anymore.
Instead of calling it “Minecraft” we’d have to call it “Generic Danish children’s building block software”
Lego, or as the BBC has to refer to it: “Generic Danish interlocking children’s building set.”

Redstone becomes real!
Same thing that happened when Microsoft bought it. MONETIZATION.
I would have also kept playing Luanti/VoxeLibre and Vintage Story.
i want vintage story
What are all these things?
The first is a FOSS recreation of Minecraft, and the second is ‘realistic’ (ie incredible hard and annoying) Minecraft with DRM and costs money
Vintage story is incredibly fucking cool.
Hey what’s your opinion on vintage story if I’m coming from Minecraft? Is it comparable to a big modpack or is it just wearing the pelt of Minecraft?
It was originally a survival focused modpack for minecraft until it morphed into a separate game and it is very good at that.
I also like the engine better, the fact that you can chisel out blocks, it allows for really beautiful building and makes crafting tools interactive in a simple but fun way.
Highly recommended!
Oh shit, if it’s anything like the old chisel mod for mc I’m already sold! I got really good at carving headstones for all my dumb deaths.
How does it apply to crafting tools? Also is there anything like Redstone? I deeply love hitting the industrial revolution.
Crafting tools goes from bashing rocks together on the ground to make tool heads to pouring molten metal in clay tool molds (or physically smithing them out on an anvil with a hammer).
There are windmills, and the next update will bring water wheels, which power certain more advanced machinery like querns for grinding grain or helve hammers for somewhat automatic smithing.
Any stuff like item sorters or mob grinders or similar, exploit the game for x type stuff? What’s the item diversity like? One thing that burns me out in Minecraft is sorting everything comfortably.
Wasn’t that kinda what LEGO Worlds was meant to be?
Minecraft Worlds got canceled pretty quickly.
They’d hire Bloc Party to be the entertainment at the announcement party.
