I’m no psychologist, but if you’re getting sexual pleasure from the same gender, regardless of it’s form, I’d wager you’re not straight. Which is 100% okay, and sexuality is a spectrum not a binary thing anyways.

Have you thought of trying your BDSM activities with a woman who has the traits you enjoy with men? I mostly prefer traditionally feminine women, but a short haired, flannel wearing, strong jawed lady also turns my crank. That also translates to liking more feminine looking men more so than the traditionally masculine men (twinks over bears).

So I wouldn’t say it’s compartmentalised, more just that sexuality is a spectrum and you happen to like two points on that spectrum, for different reasons.
