7 months agoWhile the simple answer is that sex sells, perhaps we could use this example to reflect a bit on our behaviour in the FOSS community.
Being new to this world, I think that perhaps us newbies forget that the F in FOSS maybe comes with expectations. It’s free because we all contribute. Now, I can’t code nearly as good as it would take to contribute with work, thus I should, much like the porn community through onlyfans, donate to the creators whose work I benefit from. The paywall of onlyfans is not a good solution for our community, but neither is taking peoples contributions for granted. I will donate more in the future!
