Lemmy.World is a liberal outcropping in an otherwise leftist community. It is probably the last instance I would label as “authentically leftist”.
Just because yanks don’t know anything left of their centre-right democratic party doesn’t mean that liberalism is suddenly leftist…
Edit: sorry, should have read closer. You aren’t american but are accusing Americans of changing the meaning, whilst spouting the american usage of the word? It doesn’t make sense. Why accuse Americans of changing the meaning of the word liberal when you are clearly using the american meaning in the previous sentence?
