I can’t sleep on my side because, as a kid, I was sleeping with my back to a window and had this overwhelming horror where I just KNEW these humanoid creatures were looking at me through the window. I had this feeling they were going to inject something into me that would collect together into a single mass and come out of my like a chest burster. As stupid as it was, I was a 12 year old who was horrified of what his mind told him.

This is so disturbingly common. Remember the dad that sent a picture to his son’s pediatrician?


The short version is that life is too easy.
Long version is that humans evolved in an environment where death could come from every corner you walked around. The people who made the world something that should revolve around their ideas of threats and fear were the ones that survived. Since the invention of civilization, those threats have become much more abstract but the human brain hasn’t changed that much. We keep looking for threats, but they aren’t there. Instead of accepting that they don’t exist, people decided that they must be hidden around every corner they can’t see around.

Every time I visit someone’s house or coffee shop or whatever, I create a new reddit account and see how long it takes to get banned from as many subs as possible
