It sounds like you’re describing a tiling window manager? The first response in this thread has some good information from someone who uses one and loves it. This thread on the EndeavorOS forums discusses some and it sounds like i3wm is one of the easiest to use right away but is also really easy to customize.

You might think your apps aren’t worth sharing, but I think most tabletop GMs are constantly looking for the perfect set of tools for their purposes and I bet yours would probably be just what some people need! I mostly end up just using Obsidian and keeping notes in markdown files, but I know some people want/use a lot of other tools.

For sure. The real test for finding out if you are a morning or night person is to NOT force yourself into a schedule and never set an alarm. Then you will find out what is actually natural for you. Of course, this can only really be done when you have an extended period of time without work, so I don’t think most people do it.

The only job I’ve ever had where I didn’t ever need to set an alarm was being a pizza delivery driver working second shift. I’m naturally a night owl, so I would go to bed around 5am and wake up between 11am and 2pm. I started work between 3 and 5pm and never once had to set an alarm. I miss it dearly. Now I am on an office 9 to 5 schedule went get to disrupt my sleep every single morning to make sure I make it to work on time. I love my job, but still resent my schedule.

Fun fact: that speech was a first draft. The writer made himself a note to revise it, but got busy enough with other stuff that he forgot. He remembered last minute when they were prepping to shoot the scene, but it was too late as Bill Pullman had already memorized it and had also spent time listening to unedited recordings of presidents giving big speeches throughout history to make sure it had the correct tone (this is also why he has the kind of awkward start).
