Adding a few pounds (of muscle) never hurts anyone and it give you a few curves, I.e. a bigger bottom (width and depth) and a more pronounced waist (to hip ratio). Also, being in shape generally livens up your skin, giving you a more vibrant appearance. Also, it has to the potential to increase your self confidence.
