I have the perfect timepiece. It tells the time and that’s it. It syncs to atomic time so it’s always accurate and charges by solar so it’s never dead. It has no transmitter or audio capabilities.

I’ve noticed that it works for me without a login at my home, but it forces a login at my parent’s house. I think its regional or being A/B rolled out or something.

I’ve done similar things with ssh pipe tunneling and dd ala:

Should really do it while the root is ro, but in a pinch this will mostly be ok on a quiet machine.

You might be able to run rsync afterwards to spot check if you are paranoid.

If you didn’t need block level I would have suggested just using rsync or rclone.
