They really don’t gaf about PR anymore apparently.
So is this because they think AI is going to replace them all? Or maybe to try and recoup some of the millions poured into AI that they can’t seem to make profitable?
Both?

Depending on which instance you are referring to, but yes, overall less.

Who would have thought confining some of the most self-centred, egotistical, greedy and morally flexible people together in a living situation might not work out.
Shocker…

This is where learning really starts in my opinion.

Why stop there? Just ban it entirely.
It’s not like it is actually helping society much.

I chuckled at your “deserved pardons” line. As if that has anything to do with who would be chosen. Going by the pardons this administration has been handing out so far, just pick the top 250 business moguls doing time for fraud. Boom. 250 easy.

Thanks, I hate it.

To me this title reads more like a capitalistic celebration of potential labor from an otherwise un-exploitable workforce, instead of a celebration of a major breakthrough in giving some semblance of dignity and autonomy to a person who was robbed of it by this terrible affliction.

Come here just to comment on the slam. Looks like you have to covered though.
Slam dunk!

Hopefully cheap parts, but more likely just another excuse for higher consumer prices on everything.

I still have my Instinct 1. I’m terrible for accidentally destroying watches by mistake in my daily life, so much so that I had given up on watches all together for many years.
I’ve had this thing for like 5 years now and other than replacing the strap every now and then, it’s pretty much been bulletproof.
Edit: terrible for, not terrible at. I am an expert at destroying them.

By financially dragging anyone they can else they can in with them, in a desperate reach for riches. Or is it a desperate reach to try and cover their losses?
Probably both.

I feel the enshitification is still yet partially hinged.

Let the unhinged enshitification begin!

These articles go from panic bait to feel good news after you completely switch away from Microslop,

Still a short term win. Longer term, this will likely kill youth appetite for pursuing dev as a career option.

I’m not up on ROI for non-asic mining anymore, but I’d be interested to know if this would be economical for these centres. When I used to mine ethereum on 27 Rx 580 8GB, I had to flash them with different bios to get them to be profitable.
Then the heat. I had them in a separate building on 60A panel and turning on the lights was a 50/50 that the breaker would trip.
Would running crypto on GPUs geared for AI be worth the extra power draw?
Podman is the way.

Don’t forget social status!
I self host and run a considerable amount of open source software, locally and through a remote VPS.
Knowing how much I tinker and mess with configs and settings until breaking things usually, this would not be a good idea for me.
