Do you have any particular preferences, and if there’s a particular reason - why? Small shop beans roasted on demand, or maybe larger brands like Lavazza and the likes?

Are there any neat little known facts about the beans (or the brand) that you prefer?

Had no idea that Sumatran coffee was controversial. That was my gateway into being a coffee snob. I too like the funky stuff.

Sadly, my local roaster gets an unfermented Sumatran bean, so for now I just rotate through their normal and special selections.

The giling basah process they use there creates a very distinctive flavour profile (that I enjoy), but some coffee snobs complain that you taste too much of flavours coming from the process and too little from the bean. James Hoffman talked shit about giling basah coffee this way in his World Atlas of Coffee, as an example.
