it aint about showing “them” its about what i choose to show on my body, or on my stuff. i think branding is fucking ugly and go way out of my way to avoid brands who make their branding visible. if youre payomg me, ie work, or youve specifically treated me well, or i strongly agree with you, eg bands or charities (i tagged my bike with my bike shop’s sticker and give them word of mouth recs as often as i can) thats one thing. but im not a fuckin billboard.

i think its the same mentality that motivates my ad aversion. ive gone way further out of my way than anyone in my life to avoid being advertised at.

You go way out of your way to avoid brands who make their branding visible, so you buy brands who make their branding visible, then strike out the branding of the brand and make a post about it on the internet where you can still see the branding.

      Okay buddy.

EDIT: My bad, you’re not OP. But my point still holds.

i mean, why not? if i like the product but not the branding, why not scratch the branding out, or cut it out, or whatever?

Coming soon to a dystopia near you: You don’t own the product, you’re only renting it, and by removing the branding you’re breaking the terms of rental.

Actually exactly my thinking. This might even be guerilla marketing by wrangler.
