    This is literally how the Christian Right took control of the GOP.

    Back in the 1970s a televangelist named Jerry Falwell did an actual grassroots coup. If the local Republican club got 30 people at the average meeting, Falwell’s folks would show up with twice as many.

    They started out grabbing up things like county clerks and sheriffs, and then moved on the Congress members.

      Now we are confronting a vicious enemy with bigots, religious nuts, assorted deniers, greedy techbros and traditional oligarchs in the US and abroad, all under one tent and Supply-Side Jesus.

        Most times I see progressives organizing, it’s on a single issue, like bike lanes. The Right understands that you need to get people elected.
