This is literally how the Christian Right took control of the GOP.
Back in the 1970s a televangelist named Jerry Falwell did an actual grassroots coup. If the local Republican club got 30 people at the average meeting, Falwell’s folks would show up with twice as many.
They started out grabbing up things like county clerks and sheriffs, and then moved on the Congress members.
The Hunger.
1970s Susan Sarandon and Catherine Deneuve.
Here are some shows that, imho, did it right.
“Black Sails” is about pirates. There’s a lot of graphic sex, but it’s always plot driven. Similarly, “The Americans,” the Soviet agents are using whatever means they can to accomplish their mission, and if that includes a middle aged man seducing a high school girl, so be it. Another is “Penny Dreadful.” Witches, vampires, werewolves, and the reanimated dead.
There’s a scene in "Killing Eve’ where the assassinatrix is going at it so hard that she’s scaring the innocent guy she’s with.
But yeah, most of the time it feels like they are trying to spice things up, and usually failing.
I don’t know if they still make them, but I remember ‘wrestling buddy’ dolls. Basically a human shaped pillow about 75 cm that the kid could hit and the parent could push against the child.
I see they have them on Ebay and Amazon. Probably cheaper ones in stores near you

15 minute a day plan. The only equipment you need is a stopwatch.
Starts at a level anyone who can walk around the block can do.

There was a cartoon. One person says that the only time they clean their apartment is when someone special is coming over. The other says “Don’t you think you’re special?”

Squad Victory Fund.
You can send money directly to the best members of Congress, even if you don’t live in their districts.

Add the “/s” because you know someone believes that

It’s also important to change how you eat.
Do you tear open a box/bag of something and gun it down in front of a screen?
Try making yourself actual meals. Use napkins and silverware and non-paper plates. Make a protein, a carb, and some greens. Sit at the dinner table, not in front of the TV.
Even if it’s just a snack you can present it nicely. Cut the apple up and lay it out with bits of cheese.
Make the meal seem special.

One of the best dystopian novels I ever read. “The Tomorrow File” by Lawrence Saunders
One of the subplots is a plan by the government to come up with the ultimate pleasure pill. It’s addictive enough that you can’t stop taking it, but mild enough that you can go to work every day.

The thing that annoys me the most is the amount of money it takes to protect their wealth.
Even if you factor out thngs like the police and the army, the money paid for private guards and security alone is in the hundreds of millions. Add in the accountants, lawyers, bankers, and associated finance gurus and you’ve got enough to make college free for everyone on Earth.
Most times I see progressives organizing, it’s on a single issue, like bike lanes. The Right understands that you need to get people elected.
