Technology@lemmy.world•Proton’s CEO Cancels AI ‘Re-Interviews’English
5·10 hours agoGMail is not that easy. Because, there are places and services that use e-mail clients that are easy to be sent to and received by GMail. I’ve experienced this with ProtonMail for a while, where there’ll be services and individuals that could not reach me through my Proton e-mail and I’ve had difficulty reaching out to them.

Technology@lemmy.world•Proton’s CEO Cancels AI ‘Re-Interviews’English
224·10 hours agoI’ll continue to use ProtonMail myself. But, I can’t in good conscience feel in reason to support this company with my money and I’m especially concerned with relying on ProtonVPN so that will be getting uninstalled.
This is just not how you win people over and I’m tired of this day and age in tech where companies like this, pad their PR up with promises then do a 180 on their attitude towards everyone who uses their products that makes everyone second guess them. It’s bad enough we have things like Discord who has spent a couple years, making themselves look good and cozy for the public market that have alienated its userbase.
Bluesky showing their true colors and then we have this asshole CEO on Proton taking a dump whenever he pleases on the values of why we bothered using Proton in the first place.

Technology@lemmy.world•Sam Altman Absolutely Hates the Idea of People Running Their Own AI Models at Home, Argues They Shouldn’t Own Computers: He'd prefer if we surrender all our RAM to data centers.English
30·11 hours agoOpenAI CEO Sam Altman
Why would he hold such an opinion? Man, CEOs continue proving how little they actually contribute to the best interests of the world.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What current drama do you have no opinion on?English
21·18 hours agoI’m sick of hearing about Ed Sheeran. There are and have been people who have apolitical stances because they know how absolutely fucked the USA is and has been to where we can do so little. People who become so wired up about politics and societal issues, are in a miserable cycle of cynicism, pessimism, doomer-mindset that it drags everybody down within their presence.
I think it’s okay for some of us to try and get some leverage on the lives that we do have and try to enjoy them again. I’m not saying it’s OKAY about where everything seems to be, because it’s not. I’m just saying we need hope, solace and sanity in these times than dwelling ourselves into miserable hopelessness that it costs us our future.

31·1 day agoMuch harder to powertrip you say? Have you looked in the modlogs and see how moderators ban users in multiple instances that is unrelated to the original instance? It’s very reddit like.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why aren't more people fighting against censorship?English
42·1 day agoThe point is, is that people can’t be civil enough. True freedom of speech doesn’t give you the right to shout down anyone you think is wrong when they’ve proven you wrong. That’s not how it works.
You’ve not experienced enough of the internet to know this. Actually, combing through your post history, I see why we need some censorship.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why don't countries add harder requirements for becoming a President(Like having a PhD/master degree, having a certain amount of experience in politics,...etc)?English
21·1 day agoThe idea of the president is to be naturally born. Do you see Americans become presidents/prime ministers of other countries? No, because the people of other countries, want someone who represent them. Not someone who is an outsider, who might not care about the values that the country cares about.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•what is the thing you think the fediverse is not prepared for?English
14·2 days agoIt’s not ready to really replace what it’s meant to replace.
I mean, people are told all of the time to make instances and make servers if the things they’re not seeing aren’t there. But there’s a problem, they’re only one person. It takes numerous people to make a community. The users we have on paper, would say that we have more than a capable amount to make these things possible.
But in practice and in activity, that’s not what we’re seeing. We can’t estimate how long exactly things will pick up as we are nearing 4 years into the fediverse. But we just know that how long it’s taking, we can expect that it’ll be quite a time before the fediverse even sniffs a quarter of activity the big social networks have.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think homeless people are responsible for the situation they are in?English
7·2 days agoWow, the entitlement radiating from you.
Yeah, that’s a future worth of bannings for you when you least expect it. But hey, that’s how you want your experience to be, then who am I to tell you any different. I’m just going to take this cue as a means to block you and move on.
You enjoy not growing up and victimizing yourself while not learning anything. Bye.
Necrifyre@piefed.blahaj.zoneto
Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think homeless people are responsible for the situation they are in?English
71·2 days agoYes it is because you’re basically asking to be banned or posts removed. Your stances do not matter in the way the rules are instilled here. You break them, you’re done for. You are given tools to block the people you feel are bothering you, you’ve no excuses.
All that you’re asking for again is just getting disciplined by a system that does not care about your beliefs. You’re not winning anything and the people you think are wrong are getting the last laugh as you’re treated as the problem you’re being reported as.
So again, get a grip on your maturity.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think homeless people are responsible for the situation they are in?English
13·2 days agoYou’re being confrontational, you’re slinging insults unprovoked, you’ve responded to criticism harshly over the image you’ve used that has nothing to do with the topic. You know these things, but look at the way you’re behaving about it.
It’s obvious to me that you’re probably not that new here if your first instinct is to be that antagonizing. Which tells me that it probably lead to multiple bannings in whatever and however many accounts you’ve made before.
Doesn’t matter who started what. It’s evident that you’re hurting yourself more in this than I am.
