They couldn’t even bother to print cup measurements on the carafe. I mean, it’s pretty, I guess. Also, I had to return the first one I got, it was DOA right out of the box. Disappointing, because it was a lovely bright red. Returned and got this boring off-white instead.
Clearly you got the wrong color. I use mine almost everyday and love it. Makes great coffee. Easy to maintain and if something does break you can order the part and replace it yourself vs throwing out the whole thing.

I think the colors are a ploy to keep the glass carafe version alive. I definitely would have gotten the thermal carafe it was available in even just a handful of the amazing colors the glass carafe version comes it.
We found those at an antique store. I snatched them right up!

I’m jealous. My house was built in 1921 and renovated (poorly) in the 1980’s.
Oh have no fear ours has plenty of work and the previous owners challenged themselves to do any and all renovations bad as possible!
I do love the idea of replaceable parts. That orange color is gorgeous. I was actually considering the orange but my wife dislikes that color (she’s no fun!). I like your matching cup set!
As the owner of what looks to be the exact same model (mine’s “Pistachio”). I wouldn’t argue with anything you’ve said (although I haven’t had any hardware issues; knock on wood)
It does still make good coffee though. And I actually appreciate the simplicity in some regards.
It does make good coffee. Which is why I’ve chosen to keep it, despite the apparent flimsiness.
When I first unpacked it I seriously thought the reservoir cover and filter cover were packing material 😂

That’s because you’re not supposed to use it to fill the tank. That’s how you get a dirty coffee machine.
I rinse the carafe thoroughly between uses. I also use filtered water to refill it. Besides, what if I like keeping track of how much coffee I’ve had and/or is left? ;-)

I’ve had mine for years and it has always worked perfectly. The reason I originally bought it was because you could actually buy the parts to replace anything that failed. I do recommend the thermos caraffe over the glass one.
I think I will upgrade the carafe. I do like the idea of replaceable parts.
Also, you should not use the carafe to fill the reservoir unless you thoroughly wash it first. You don’t want oil from coffee burning up in the heater.

Since there are oils involved I would recommend soap and water, not just a rinse if you want to go that route.
The metal carafe is the way to go imo.

If you’re cheap like me, I suspect this concept would work with a replacement thermal carafe just fine.
I’ve had one of that brand for almost 20 years. Used it every day. It will last. The carafes do break but they’re easy to replace. Give a regular cleaning and it will last.
They at least sell replacements, and they’re pretty widely available where I’m at.
Give it a chance. Agree it doesn’t feel tank solid built, but if you care for it it will give you good coffee and be reliable. Calibrations on a carafe that wide are terribly inaccurate. The reservoir is calibrated which is more accurate.
I can’t get into any of this stuff because it looks like a pain in the ass to clean. Less parts the better
This thing looks complex but is astonishingly basic. I opened up the bottom and there’s hardly anything to it.
My BIL has one, a different model, which has been making coffee daily for about 15 years now. So, FWIW, it may feel flimsy but it might last forever. I find it easy to use and clean when I’m visiting, but it’s a drip coffee maker so I wouldn’t expect complexity. His is a vacuum þermos model, not a glass caraffe, but it oþerwise looks similar.
